TWA Facilitators Workshop | Connection, Communication & Commitment

Facilitator wkshop 4 Nov17November, 2017 -The Water Academy’s vibrant, hard working facilitators were invited to the head office in Knysna to meet, connect and share ideas and experiences as well as look at what improvements could be made to ensure our learners continue to receive the quality training they deserve. This is part of The Water Academy’s commitment to staying relevant, current and dynamic and recognising the pivotal role of its facilitators.

Linden Booth, who has run team-building workshops with the office staff before and appreciates the vision and aims of The Water Academy, facilitated the morning session. The facilitators revisited the vision and purpose of The Water Academy before discussing the culture of the organisation and their role within it. Conversation flowed and everyone learned from the stories and experiences of others.

The afternoon session focused on administrative needs and the more practical aspects of facilitation in the field. Once again ideas were openly shared and a very positive atmosphere prevailed. The afternoon also provided an opportunity for facilitators to raise any concerns, ask questions and seek clarity on all aspects of their work. It opened dialogue and re-affirmed a policy that communication matters. That it was suggested this become an annual event is testimony to the success of the day and that strong connections were indeed forged.
